Work Rotation: Week 3- San Francisco

I've almost been in San Francisco for a week now. I forgot how much I love SF and the Bay Area. I haven't really been here in a long time...probably since Ben was actually a student at Berkeley instead of Berkeley bum. Like New York, I'm lucky to know a decent number of people in the area so that's made the time go by quickly. The difference between NYC and here, at least in the people I know, is that my Bay Area friends are people I grew up with. Not just high school friends, but people I've known as long as I can remember. It's definitely a different dynamic...in a good way.

The work here has been a little slower than NYC. The atmosphere is also completely different from the office in NYC. It's relaxed and fun. There are a few more people and everyone is relatively young. So even though I'm not as busy here, I'm enjoying it a little more. We take long lunches (and before 2 pm unlike in NYC) and we joke around and make food runs whenever a craving hits.

My apartment has an amazing view. I'm right on the bay and my windows overlook the Bay Bridge. I wake up every morning to the ocean air and to tons of sunlight. I think this has been the first week ever that I've actually just woken up naturally, not really needing my alarm clock. I've also gotten out a bunch and seen a good number of people:
-saw Ben, Andy, and Tony and met Tony's wife for the first time
-went to Pleasonton for a BBQ and charity poker event
-went to The Mission for dinner with Greg and drinks with Clara and her friends
-saw Amber's new "cottage" in Bernal Heights
-went out to Mountain View to eat dinner with Amber and her brother TJ
-went to Sushi House in Alameda with Ben and saw his new apartment
-lots of munchie runs with people at work and tons of Mexican food
-went to Jack London area of Oakland with Ben
-hung out at Berkeley with Ben and had some crazy flashbacks to all the times I've been out here

The next week should be just as fun. Going to a co-worker's tonight for some drinks. Joe is coming into town next weekend. Meeting up with Wendy and possibly rock climbing (I'm going to die!). Meeting up with my old JA for dinner. Giants game. Oakland A's game.
