Work Rotation: Week 1- NYC

So my first week in NYC has been pretty amazing. My company has put me up in a brand new hotel, right off of Bryant Park and I’m about a 7 minute walk from the office. Our New York office is small, but nice. Only 6 people occupy the office right now, but everyone is pretty relaxed and friendly. The best way to describe the atmosphere in the office is to give you an example of a daily tradition in the office. At 4 pm every day, they have tea time. Yes, tea is served as well as cookies and pretty much everyone in the office comes to the kitchen and drinks a cup of tea and munches on some cookies. It was a little weird at first, but now I love it.

Beside work, I’ve done some cool things in the city and seen a bunch of people. Quick recap:

-Gorillaz concert with Kerel at the Apollo Theatre
-Fat Black Pussy Cat with Kerel, Vero, Elena, Starner, Maggie and Alex (Phil’s friend who I see more often then Phil!)
-rained out Met’s game
-tailgating in the rain for three hours in the Mets parking lot
-coffee and cake with Sulgi and Lillian
-dinner with Jessica and her friends at Republic
-crashing at some kid named Omer’s place
-walking to Greenpoint to meet Chloe, Ari, Anna, Andrew Brown, and Payson at some random Polish bar
-catching up with Anna
-dinner with Lillian in Chinatown
-drinking at many, many bars
-huge steak dinner with a reinsurer for work (yeah to free meals and drinks!)
-lunches in Bryant Park
-Dave and Busters
-Kerel pissing (accidentally) on some guys head in the alley below
-hanging out around Union Square with Evan
-walking around Central Park with Elena and Evan
