So I've found it very interesting that as of late, a lot of Asians have been "making it" so to speak into the mainstream entertainment world. Just last night, Dat Phan won "Last Comic Standing" and a couple weeks ago _____ won "Fame" and then there is Jin Tha MC who was the Freestyle Friday Champ a while back. I'm trying to figure out what the deal is and also wondering if other Asians respect these guys as artists or despise them. In particular, I'm trying to figure out how I feel about Dat Phan. He basically bases his whole comedy act on being Asian and his first-generation mother. Not the most innovative stuff from my point of view since I've heard all that crap as an Asian. In some respects, I think he's selling out; playing on being Asian to make people laugh.

Anyways, its something I thought I'd bring up. As for Jin, I've met the guy and he's decent. Doesn't play off "being Asian" more than necessary, or at least not fakely.
