Food and Friends

This past week was a mixed bag. On Monday, I was extremely irritable and for some reason, I just couldn't handle work. I had to call Dani during my lunch hour just to vent, but there was no specific reason why I was so irritated. I was kind of being irrational, talking about how unequal I thought work dress codes were between men and women. (but it's true...) However, besides work being a little erratic, I had the good fortune of eating with two good friends from Williams this week.

On Thursday, I went down to New Haven and took Alexis (Medina) out for dinner. It was her birthday this past Monday; plus I hadn't seen her in a while, which is kind of ridiculous since is one of the only people I know who lives really close to me. We went to one of the coolest restaurants. I can't remember the name, but its basically an Indian restaurant in a building that used to be an old 50's style diner. Think of Mickey's Diner that Charlie Conway's mom works at in Mighty Ducks (which is an actual restaurant in downtown in St. Paul, MN). Sorry for the obscure reference, but that's what came to mind. Anyways, it was just really funny because the Indian restaurant also tried to be a little high class, waiters dressed in black and white, paintings on the wall, etc. And to make the experience even better, they played Top 40 hits that had all been remixed Bhangra-style.

On Saturday, I got off my lazy ass and drove to Boston to see Aron (Chang). We met at Davis Square near Tufts and had lunch at this Tibetan restaurant. It was good to see Aron and hear how he was doing at Harvard, especially since Aron was one of my best friends in college. I definitely needed to see some friendly faces this week.
