Stray Shots: Holiday Vacation Recap

This is a little late, but my time home for the holidays was just what I needed. I went home for Christmas/New Years to MN for almost a week and a half. It was good to see my parents, but even better to see Mike, Sandy, and my niece Haley since they were'nt home for Thanksgiving. And even though all my friends were not back for the holidays (something I'm still getting used to), I got to see a lot of people and had some fun times.

Overall, Christmas was great. I think I went overboard with buying presents, especially for Haley, but as I've grown up, giving presents is much more fun than getting presents (as corny as that sounds.) As has become tradition, my family had a lot of people over for Christmas day dinner, including the Yang family, the Lee family, and the Lin family. Got to play with my kiddies for most of the night (i.e. Brendan, Sam, and Haley) which is something I really miss about not living in MN. I was definitely exhausted after the day was over just rom running around so much.

Monday night was probably one of the best nights I've had in a long time. Went to downtown Minneapolis with high school friends. We did some bar hopping. It was a good time because everyone who has graduated (Lynn is still in at Madison)finally has a full-time job so everyone was buying pitchers to the point where there was just too much damn beer. After getting kicked out of Brothers at closing time, we wandered teh streets of Minneapolis. Brian jumped on my back at one point which resulted in us face planting in the middle of the street in front of a police car. My right arm is still very sore from that (that was 2 weeks ago!). However, this was not our only experience with the cops that night. Later, Dennis got pulled over for jay-walking. Let's just say it could have gotten a lot worse if Dennis hadn't made some quick moves and if the rest of us hadn't kept the crackheads from trying to interfere. In the end, Dennis just got a warning. After that, we ventured to the "Voo" (akak strip club) where Lynn started dropping dollars and we all made sure Kee-Won was "taken care of."

In the end, I made it home aroun 5 am and for once, my parents didn't call me all night long or even complain at how late I got in.

The rest of the week was great. Hung out with Andrea most nights. Saw Corinna and Jessica. Ran into Val in Uptown. And of course, played with Haley a lot.
