And so begins another semester. I was struck today at how fast college is going by. For some reason, I thought I was just starting sophomore year and now I realize my college career is almost half-way done. It gets even crazier cause some of my friends have graduated and are looking for jobs. Reality is getting a little too close for comfort. But this isn't really something I should or need to dwell on right now. So much ahead in the next month. I've got a whole new batch of challenging classes and so much more to accomplish with all the organizations I'm a part of. So many great things are happening on campus this semester. We've got the Roots coming and I'm trying to get Jin tha MC to come too. Plus its going to be a good semester for Spoken Word. Sekou, the 2002 National Slam Poetry Champ, is coming and I'm trying to get Yellow Rage, Mayda del Valle, 2001 Slam Champ, and Bao out here too. So much great stuff. Getting a little nervous though, thinking about this summer and next year. Will I go to China? Will I be a JA? Really worried about the JA thing since I haven't gotten an interview yet. Anyways, I'm gonna try to do a lot of things differently this semester. I got to say that the month in Hawaii really was good for me. Got a different perspective on things from the Zen training, but I also got a chance to really relax and get away from all the crap at school. I promise I'm gonna send an update e-mail out soon about the whole Hawaii experience. Okay...gotta get back to work.
