Poetry all day long. Today was the finals for the National Poetry Slam and it was nothing short of amazing. I've been videotaping this whole week and hopefully I can edit it all sometime and maybe throw it on the web. I already have a request from one person to get him a copy. Anyways, the finals was not the greatest thing that happened today. There was also the Asian American Showcase hosted by my man Bao Phi and that place was rocking with Asian American poets from all over the country and guess what...I read my poetry in public for the first time (well I've read to people before, but only in class) It was amazing and gratifying and nerve-racking and fulfilling. God, I need to keep writing and to keep reading and hopefully, I'll start slamming. I got to touch base with a bunch of amazing people today. I'm so grateful for the National Poetry Slam because I met so amazing people like Aaron Yamaguchi, David Huang, Tou, SeKou tha Misfit, Jenny, Susanne, and I got to see my friend Bao and Tatiana, met some cool poets from Oakland and got to see the 2Tongues crew again, though they usually don't remember me, though I've seen and met them so many times. Anyways, I am overwhelmed and fuckin tired. Peace.
