Maybe Yoko Isn't So Bad

Dinner on Sunday was like admitting that the band had broken up...for real. I think it felt even weirder since we were eating at our old stomping grounds, which too had undergone a little bit of change. But change is good and we had a nice dinner. I hope things work out for them since she seems pretty happy and I like this new guy. Maybe it won't be so weird in time.

After dinner, we got one last drink at The Whiskey Ward. The place was pretty much empty besides us and a couple of regulars. We chatted up the bartender and questioned him about all the specials he had. One special, the Knockout Drop, sounded terrible. The shot was half Jose Cuervo and half Wild Turkey. According to the bartender, back in the day, knockout drops were shots that bartenders gave people to knock them out so they could be shanghaied to work on ships. Sounds great right? Well, we did a round with him and it actually wasn't half bad. None of the bite that you would get if you took a shot of Cuervo or Wild Turkey alone and just the nice little burn you get when you breath out after you take a shot of bourbon. I explained the shot to my coworkers this morning and suggested we use that as our new shot since our resident Tequila expert retired. No one thought that was a good idea.
