I Moved...

So for those who don't know, graduation has passed, my life as student has ended (at least for a while), and I've moved to Manchester, CT. I've been here for almost 2 months now, and for the most part, I've gotten settled. I started work about 6 weeks ago. I'm in an underwriting training program for an insurance company (Discover-Re) This should not be confused with Discover Card. Not affiliated in any way. For the most part, I can't complain about the job. I'm getting paid well and all I've been doing for the last 6 weeks is reading and studying. It's kind of sad to say, but I've studied and read more in the last 6 weeks than I probably did all of senior year or for most of my college year. For those who know me, I wasn't really into studying or reading during college. But its been paying off. I need to pass 4 certification test this year. I took my first one last Friday. I didn't do as well as I wanted, but I still passed! I'll just have to do better n my next test which is coming up in 2 weeks. Anyways, enough about work.
As far as living in CT, I'm not sure what to say. Manchester is a nice quiet suburban area. I'm living a nice, modern apartment complex. The residents are not as young as I had originally thought, but there are a lot of great amenities that the place has like: a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, tennis court, fitness center, and a "clubhouse." Sadly, I haven't had much time to use the pool and jacuzzi. I was also surprised as to how apartment living has turned out. I guess I expected it to be like living in a dorm again, but most residents don't really want to get to know their neighbors. It's not that people are not friendly, but its definetly not the same as college. So it's been nice to have a roommate. Though I was originally really opposed to getting a roommate, it is kind of nice to have some around. We're not the best of friends, but we get along. I hope we have some more common interests. It's been hard to really get to know him much because his girlfriend has been visiting for the past 1 1/2 weeks. That's been a little weird because I want to give them their space because she's still in college so he probably won't to get to see her that often, but I also feel like I'm being kind of unfriendly in the process.
Anyways, quick background on my roommate:
His name is Ryan and he's from Minnesota and went to the University of Michigan. I didn't know him before moving in with him, but it was definetly coincidental how we met. After graduation, I cam down to CT to look for apartments and happened to meet him after we had both looked at the same place. We met, seemed like a nice guy, and we decided to live together. Like everyone who lives in Hartford, we're both working at insurance companies. He's an actuary at Cigna.

Anyways, that's justa real brief update of where I am now. 'nother post coming soon.

For now, some new pictures of my niece!
