There's no place like home(coming)...
Friday:
Summary: Bobby’s birthday, drank and smoked,
So I had the day off from work because I had to take a test in the morning for my job (I passed.) I drove to Williams in the afternoon and after saying a quick hello to Kristi in Security, I went to Hubbell to celebrate with the gays (i.e. Bobby, Josh Larson, Ikem, and Nicole.) We drank some wine and caught up. It was like old times except that Bobby’s tolerance has gone down. After a while, people started streaming in and out of the room. Chae and Dave Brown’s sister came by and I went on a liquor run with them. We continued to drink for a while downing some good old Andre, Grey Goose, and Yukon Jack. Eventually PJ (who incidentally caused Nicky to fall in a ditch and twist her ankle later) called us and we went over to Dodd Annex aka “The Slave Quarters” (no joke!) where PJ proceeded to smoke us out. At this point, Bobby and Chae were drunk and paranoid and at one point Bobby almost darted out the screen window because he though he heard Security coming.
By now it was well past dinner time, so Nicole, Bobby, and I went to Mezze to get drinks and dinner to celebrate Bobby’s birthday. It was fun. Every gay person and their mother in Williamstown showed up at Mezze to wish Bobby a happy birthday. It was cute. However, I kind of felt bad because we didn’t have reservations and Jane Stimpson, who graduated but hosts at Mezze now, gave us a table, bumping Isaac Foster. It was a little awkward when Isaac walked in and it was quite obvious that we had stolen his table. He got a table in the bar area, but I still felt guilty.
I didn’t stay long at Mezze because I had to make it over to
When I walked in, I was quickly handed free drink tickets to hand out. I already had drink tickets to give out for the tailgate the next day. Needless to say, I was stumbling around through free drink tickets around like they were nothing. It was great to see so many people back. I was surprised at the number of my classmates who came back. I’m not really sure how long I was at Spice Root, but I eventually left with Dani (after she punched Evan in the jaw) to go the Herring. As we were walking there, my brother called and Dani steals my phone, bitches him out and hangs up on him. Too drunk to really care, we went to the Herring for more drinks. The specifics of the Herring elude me except that I remember doing Tequila shots, mistaking Ali Orme for Ainsley O’Connell (that’s the second time I’ve totally forgotten who a JA Selection Committee member was), and well…that’s all I really remember.
After the Herring, Evan and I went to Village Pizza. Good times there. We decided to call Karen Untereker who didn’t come back from Homecoming. I think we woke her up and I totally freaked her out at one point. After Village Pizza, we went to Kareem’s where we drank and smoked some more. I eventually stumbled back to Milham and passed out on a couch.
Saturday:
Summary: went to the tailgate, never saw the game, drank and smoked, drank, drank and smoked again, passed out, partied at Kareem’s and Mezze, Colonial Pizza run with Nicky, Meg, and Evan, Taking Back Sunday with Kate and Viv, passed out on Tiffany’s floor with a boot in my back
Waking up at a bright and early 11 am, I got ready for Homecoming. Ran into Liz Gluck and Kate Dineen who were also crashing at Milham. Actually, I had seen Kate the night before (just didn’t remember that.) After the girls got ready, we headed to the tailgate. The time at the tailgate all kind of bled together, but it was a great time. Ran into so many people, including Barb and Gail, Vero, my frosh, Marcela, Kelsey, Chin, etc. Continuing my now 5 year tradition, I never actually saw a full minute of the football game. Lots of drinks were consumed as well as food. The BSU, as always, represented well. They definitely had the best tailgate and I hung around there for hours.
As the game was coming to an end, a bunch of us smoked an reminisced. I eventually left to
I was eventually awoken by Kate and got my bearings and headed over to Kareem’s place. It was a little slow at first, but picked up. Got to see Barry, Nicky, Matty, Anna, etc. Eventually we headed to Mezze where we had some drinks and then we started to get cravings for some calzones from Colonials.
We headed to Colonials around 1:30 am.
After stuffing ourselves with calzone, we headed back to Kareem’s. More drinking and smoking and then I head back to Milham. Someone had stolen my sleeping bag and some weird people were passed out on the couches so I decided to pass out in Tiffany’s room where Viv and Kate were sleeping. When I walked in, Kate was asleep and Viv was half awake. Viv had me put a Taking Back Sunday CD on. Once it came on, Kate immediately woke up and the both of them did their “Taking Back Sunday routine” which basically consists of them lip-synching and dancing around like maniacs. They did this for two songs and then right as the second song ended, Kate went right back to sleep, almost as if she had just been momentarily possessed. It was hilarious. I eventually passed out on Tiffany’s floor.
Sunday:
Summary: Five Corners, Goff’s, coffee shop, drove home, passed out
Waking up way too early (that happens a lot when I’ve been drinking and when you sleep on the heel of a girl’s boot), I went to pack up my car. Still groggy, I stupidly locked my car keys in my trunk and had to call the WPD to break into my car. After that mess, I went to Five Corners with Barry, Nicky, and Meg. It was like our usually Sunday Advisory Board trip to Five Corners minus Dean Dave which was sad since he used to pay for us. After eating lunch (and Nicky and Meg taking bites out of the croissant that Meg had bought for Papa), we headed back to campus. I spent the rest of the afternoon meeting up with people, buying Williams stuff at Goff’s and hanging out at the coffee shop. The drive home was absolutely beautiful. The whole weekend we had fantastic weather which made it that much better. When I got home, I went straight for my bed and passed out for the rest of the day. THE END
